The Stewardship Appeal 2012

There is still time to make your pledge to this years Sewardship Appeal . . . . .
Our parish goal this year is $179,000. To date our parish has received $137,231 in pledges with gifts fom 724 families. For this Appeal to be truly successful we must have the support of all our families. The Appeal is a vital source of funding for the programs and ministries that sustain the parishes across our Archdiocese. It is not to late to make your gift to the Appeal. We thank those who have already sent in their pledge and ask that those who have not as yet responded to prayerfully consider their gift to this years’ Appeal. If you have misplaced your pledge card there are envelopes in the rear of the church that you can use to make your pledge and you can drop it in the collection basket on Sunday or at the office or by E-mail  www.archstewarshipappeal.org. and place your pledge directly with the Appeal Office.

9/11 Memorial Committee Update

Wegenaar Monuments has been selected to furnish the monument in gray granite having a 4 inch deep engraving of the image of Jesus embracing the Twin Towers. The base of the monument will display the names of those who lost their lives and were buried from St. Charles:
John Tierney, Edward D’Atri, Harvey Harrell, Daniel Libretti, Carl Bini, Christopher Mozzillo, and John Schardt (all Firefighters) Keith Roma (Fire Patrol) as well as Vito DeLeo, Hilario Sumaya, Susan Bochino and Anthony Starita.
The monument location has been moved to the grass plot on the side of the church facing the school to give sufficient room for the monument which will reach 6 feet in height. If there are any of our parishioners with an immediate family member who perished on 9/11 please inform the committee or call the office to let them know. The committee is considering a paved walkway which possibly could have the names of other friends and relatives who died on 9/11.
